Jennifer Foster
Horsewoman. World Traveler. Heart-Centered Guide
Jennifer grew up on a working ranch in east central Nevada, where riding wasn’t a hobby — it was a way of life. By the time she was 12, she was already starting colts and training horses for the public. She went on to qualify for Nationals in college and high school rodeo four years in a row, competing in barrel racing with grit and grace.
But her journey didn’t stop in the arena.
Everywhere she’s gone, one truth has remained: horses change lives.
After building a full horse training facility and ranch in Idaho, Jennifer saw the need for something more — a space where women could come to reconnect with their strength, feel safe in their bodies, and find peace in partnership with horses.
That’s where the Reset & Reflect Getaway was born.
Jennifer brings decades of experience, unshakable presence, and a passion for helping women feel confident, calm, and deeply connected — not just in the saddle, but in their lives.
Jen’s Philosophy:

Jennifer’s path has taken her across the U.S. and around the globe — galloping racehorses at Santa Anita, learning from renowned trainer Annie Reynolds in Idaho, starting Thoroughbreds in Kentucky, and competing in everything from Reined Cow Horse and Versatility Ranch Horse to Dressage, Working Equitation, and Cross Country.

I was blessed with the opportunity to ride with and work for Jen for a summer- it was a pivotal period of learning in my horsemanship journey. Here's what I can tell you:
Jen is an exceptional, successful horsewoman with a diverse background. From cowboying in the great basin, showing at futurity's and reined cow horse shows, riding english jumpers and dressage, starting and riding race horses, to ranch rodeos. Jen has not just "been around" all these things, but has truly "done" them.
Jen is adventurous and embodies tenacity, and when she does something she is all in. She knows how to bring out full potential in a horse, while always considering the horse and striving for unity. Also, due to her diverse background, Jen knows how to meet a horse where it's at. Jen does not make mechanical or robotic horses- her methods focus on making it the horses idea and cultivating a willing partnership, spending time both in the arena and outside. She does not just go through the motions, but truly cares about and believes in each horse and making them the best they can be, resulting in maximum performance.
Jen's horses and JK Ranch itself are a testament to Jen's attention to detail. JK Ranch is a wonderful facility that is tended to and kept up as something to be proud of the same way the horses are- from little things like keeping gold fish in water tanks to keep tanks clean, to keeping safe and clean corral and pasture spaces.
Jen also possesses excellent knowledge of equine nutrition and shoeing, again always striving to do what's best for the horse to ensure they are reaching their fullest potential in health, happiness and performance.
Finally, Jen is a great teacher. Something unique about Jen is she is very open minded and always up for learning or trying something new (did I mention her diverse background?), but at the same time does not settle for less than what she knows is right or the best, and she is one of those people with an edge of focus.
Due to all of the above, I truly learned so much, grew so much, and had so much FUN during my time with Jen.
I say all of this because, to me, these things are all important and tell me a lot about a person, and you can tell a lot about a person's horsemanship mindset and what kind of horses they have based on what kind of person they are. Jen cares and works hard, and this shows in her horses.
I definitely recommend JK Ranch and Horses. The facility is great, horses are well cared for, and Jen knows how to make nice horses.
